TO BE THIRSTY AND HUNGRY FOR GOD IN THE MIST OF DISTRESS

O BE THIRSTY AND HUNGRY FOR GOD IN THE MIST OF DISTRESS . FWCC MOKOPANE 26/11/2017.  FWCC 03/12/2017. MIDDELBURG CRUSADE 21/03/2018.

PSALMA 42:1-4. MATTH 5:6.. AFM MUSINA CRUSADE 14/02/2019....

“As a deer thirsts for streams of water, so I thirst for you, God. I thirst for the living God. When can I go to meet with him? Day and night, my tears have been my food. People are always saying, “Where is your God?” When I remember these things, I speak with a broken heart. I used to walk with the crowd and lead them to God’s Temple with songs of praise.”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭42:1-4‬ ‭NCV‬‬.

PSALMS 42:1-4.“As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? My tears have been my food day and night, While they continually say to me, “Where is your God?” When I remember these things, I pour out my soul within me. For I used to go with the multitude; I went with them to the house of God, With the voice of joy and praise, With a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast.”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭42:1-4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬.

PSALMS 42:1-4. “As a deer longs for a stream of cool water, so I long for you, O God. I thirst for you, the living God; when can I go and worship in your presence? Day and night I cry, and tears are my only food; all the time my enemies ask me, “Where is ,your God?” My heart breaks when I remember the past, when I went with the crowds to the house of God and led them as they walked along, a happy crowd, singing and shouting praise to God.”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭42:1-4‬ ‭GNB‬‬.

MATTHEW 5:6.“Happy are those whose greatest desire is to do what God requires; God will satisfy them fully!”‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:6‬ ‭GNB‬‬.

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

““You’re blessed when you’ve worked up a good appetite for God. He’s food and drink in the best meal you’ll ever eat.”‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:6‬ ‭MSG‬‬.

Water is one of the most essential need for our physical life and so is the meals or food, That should also tells us how much God is so much essential for life to continuously be satisfied by His presents in our daily life, so we need to be hungry and be thirsty to worship and praise God, to be blessed, to have His grace and supernatural presents.

(1) To STOP thirsting for God is a sign that you are dead spiritually, there for we must never allow anything in this life, been lack of money, or been rich, or luck of job and even to be crushed by what people say about you to diminish our intense desire for the things of God or to worship God. We must always be aware of the things of this life, the earthly things, the worries of this life, the pleasures that choke out the hunger and thirst for God and wanting to do His will and the deep desires to seek His face in prayer.(MARK 4:19).“and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.”‭‭Mark‬ ‭4:19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬.

(2). We should pray that our longing for God's presence might grow stronger in us, that our love for the fullness of God's presence and manifestations of the Holy Spirit might be greater in our lives, and that our passion for to see the fullness of Christ kingdom and His righteousness might be deepened until we cry for out for Him day and night in our heartfelt thirst. That is why Jesus Christ said , Blessed are those who thirst and hunger for righteousness and they shall be satisfied, true satisfaction of our souls is in God and only in the living God.

(3). We must remember that we have two enemies within ourselves and that both have two different eternities, Flesh and blood can not inherit the kingdom of God, and that the Flesh and the spirit will always be at war with each other, the flesh or the body does not enter heaven that is why the Bible teach us that the flesh desires its own things that fight against the spirit of man, 1Cor 15:50.“I tell you this, brothers and sisters: Flesh and blood cannot have a part in the kingdom of God. Something that will ruin cannot have a part in something that never ruins. But look! I tell you this secret: We will not all sleep in death, but we will all be changed.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:50-51‬ ‭NCV‬‬..

When the flesh is thirsty or hungry, it will look for its satisfying desires which are contrary to God and that which the spirit wants or desires, to satisfy the flesh is to look after death but to satisfy the spirit is life and peace. JESUS CHRIST said if any one is thirsty let him come to me and drink of living water. John 6:35. “Then Jesus said, “I am the bread that gives life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”‭‭John‬ ‭6:35‬ ‭NCV‬‬.

John 7:37-38.“On the last and most important day of the feast Jesus stood up and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. If anyone believes in me, rivers of living water will flow out from that person’s heart, as the Scripture says.” Jesus was talking about the Holy Spirit. The Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet been raised to glory. But later, those who believed in Jesus would receive the Spirit.”John‬ ‭7:37-39‬ ‭NCV‬‬..

(4). When the spirit is thirsty or hungry, is only want to be filled by God because it is of God, everything is satisfied by its own origin, the flesh is been satisfied by the things of this world because is originate from the world, and so is the spirit, the spirit of man originate from God and therefore it can only be satisfied by God.

ROMANS 8:4-11. “He did this so that we could be the kind of people the law correctly wants us to be. Now we do not live following our sinful selves, but we live following the Spirit. Those who live following their sinful selves think only about things that their sinful selves want. But those who live following the Spirit are thinking about the things the Spirit wants them to do. If people’s thinking is controlled by the sinful self, there is death. But if their thinking is controlled by the Spirit, there is life and peace. When people’s thinking is controlled by the sinful self, they are against God, because they refuse to obey God’s law and really are not even able to obey God’s law. Those people who are ruled by their sinful selves cannot please God. But you are not ruled by your sinful selves. You are ruled by the Spirit, if that Spirit of God really lives in you. But the person who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to Christ. Your body will always be dead because of sin. But if Christ is in you, then the Spirit gives you life, because Christ made you right with God. God raised Jesus from the dead, and if God’s Spirit is living in you, he will also give life to your bodies that die. God is the One who raised Christ from the dead, and he will give life through his Spirit that lives in you.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:4-11‬ ‭NCV‬‬.

GALATIANS 5:16-18 “So I tell you: Live by following the Spirit. Then you will not do what your sinful selves want. Our sinful selves want what is against the Spirit, and the Spirit wants what is against our sinful selves. The two are against each other, so you cannot do just what you please. But if the Spirit is leading you, you are not under the law.”‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:16-18‬ ‭NCV‬‬.

We know that flesh and blood can not inherit the Kingdom of God, because it has been corrupted by sin, the flesh can only be satisfied by sin of this world and the spirit can only be filled and satisfied by God because is originate from God and is the flesh that originate from the world. JESUS CHRIST Made it very clear to the Samaritan woman at the pool of Jacob in JOHN 4:10-18 “Jesus said, “If you only knew the free gift of God and who it is that is asking you for water, you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.” The woman said, “Sir, where will you get this living water? The well is very deep, and you have nothing to get water with. Are you greater than Jacob, our father, who gave us this well and drank from it himself along with his sons and flocks?”

but whoever drinks the water I give will never be thirsty. The water I give will become a spring of water gushing up inside that person, giving eternal life.” The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water so I will never be thirsty again and will not have to come back here to get more water.” Jesus told her, “Go get your husband and come back here.” The woman answered, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You are right to say you have no husband. Really you have had five husbands, and the man you live with now is not your husband. You told the truth.””‭‭John‬ ‭4:10-12, 14-18‬ ‭NCV‬‬.

JESUS CHRIST is the only one who can satisfy our thirsty souls and a hungry heart, may our souls and heart be thirsty and hungry for God every day, may seek after His working power of His word and the Holy Spirit in our daily live.
